Advertisement for New Trustee/ Directors

Share Psychotherapy is a well-established Sheffield-based charitable company offering high quality psychotherapy services to adults, including those who are economically disadvantaged or who, for other reasons, cannot obtain such help. Our clients are experiencing often serious mental or emotional distress through anxiety, depression, and difficulty with relationships or life traumas.

Share is looking for up to 2 new members to join the 5-strong Board of Trustee/Directors. The Board takes responsibility for strategy, governance, major financial matters and business planning and monitoring. We are seeking to build on recent work to consolidate and extend the range of services we provide in a new phase of development helping to improve mental well-being in Sheffield. We place strong emphasis on innovation and collaboration with other providers and commissioners.

While giving overall direction and oversight to the organisation, current Board members bring individual experience and expertise to support making our plans a reality. Each takes an interest in specific areas of Share’s business, using perspectives gained in the fields of health care, training and education, research, consultancy and performance management. Direct clinical and user experience are also represented.

Applicants for Trustee roles will have in-depth management or specialist professional experience to bring to the work of Share, with skills in areas such as financial management, managing people, strategic management or in business development, including marketing, PR and media. Applicants with senior clinical experience would also be welcome. Some knowledge of working in the not-for-profit sector is desirable. Above all, Trustees need to have a real interest in mental health issues and in Share’s core mission to provide psychotherapy for those in society who would otherwise not be able to afford it.

With project work and bi-monthly Board meetings the commitment to Share is roughly 1-2 days per month.
