Our trainees are a valued part of the team and are supported to be part of providing our front line service to clients. A placement with Share is a little different from most placement opportunities.

The majority of our therapy is delivered by volunteers: both qualified, experienced therapists and those with us on Level 5 or above training placements. As a trainee at Share you will receive regular support from our Clinical Manager, fortnightly clinical supervision and will benefit from being part of a medium organisational structure.

You will meet a variety of therapists working in different modalities and will attend your supervision groups with people who will support and challenge you as you develop your practice.

We provide placements to people from a wide range of training providers and pride ourselves on being able to offer a supportive, rich learning environment to help you develop your therapeutic skills.

If you are interested in a placement which can provide you with any of the following then please get in touch.

  • a professional, supportive and creative working environment

  • the opportunity to gain experience in a third sector organisation

  • the chance to experience the provision of medium to long-term psychotherapy, building lasting therapeutic relationships with your clients

  • responsibility for your own caseload of 3 or more clients – seeing the same people at the same time each week for the course of their therapy

  • regular group based clinical supervision

  • comfortable and well-appointed therapy rooms

  • a dedicated art therapy space equipped with materials

  • access to a comprehensive specialist library

  • the knowledge that you are a key part of helping to provide a valuable and much needed service to individuals experiencing mental health problems

Please note, we can only offer placements to people studying Psychotherapy/Counselling.
