In order to provide low cost therapy which is accessible to people on low incomes we rely not only on people volunteering their time but also on funding from a variety of local sources.
Share Psychotherapy’s annual expenditure is around £120,000 and our income is made up of money from a variety of local trusts, the CCG and through the fees paid by our clients for our service.
We are actively looking for new funding opportunities to maintain stability and invest in future aspirations. It is estimated that about one in four of us experience mental illness in our lifetimes and contributing to the running of mental health services like ours is a concrete way of supporting those in need.
There is strong evidence that many patients could be helped by psychoanalytical therapy but the lack of specialists means that many GPs feel they have no option but to prescribe antidepressants. We work with GPs and their patients to provide an alternative to medication for those who want it.
You can find more information on our performance and the people we serve below and if you feel you might be able to help us by providing your time, skills, materials or funding we would love to hear from you.
